The Articles of Faith |
1. WE believe in God, the Eternal Father, and in His Son, Jesus Christ, and in the Holy Ghost.
2. WE believe that men will be punished for their own sins, and not for Adam's transgression.
3. WE believe that through the Atonement of Christ, all mankind may be saved, by obedience to the laws and ordinances of the Gospel.
4. WE believe that the first principles and ordinances of the Gospel are: first, Faith in the Lord Jesus Christ; second, Repentance; third, Baptism by immersion for the remission of sins; fourth, Laying on of hands for the gift of the Holy Ghost.
5. WE believe that a man must be called of God, by prophecy, and by the laying on of hands by those who are in authority, to preach the Gospel and administer in the ordinances thereof.

Brigham Young University Hawaii is an undergraduate institution that educates some 2,400 students from Asia, the Pacific islands, the U.S., and other parts of the world. Representing over 70 countries, our students are fulfilling a phenomenon envisioned by the university’s founder, David O. McKay, former president of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. In 1955, standing in an isolated field that would evolve into the beautiful campus of today, McKay declared: "From this school, I’ll tell you, will go men and women whose influence will be felt for good towards the establishment of peace internationally."

This is the official Church site about the Seminary program and the Institute program.
·Seminary - Seminary provides weekday religious instruction for members of the Church in grades nine through twelve (ages fourteen through eighteen). Young people who are not members of the Church are also welcome to participate. Three types of seminary are available: released-time, early-morning, and home-study. The following one-year courses are taught in seminary: Old Testament, New Testament, Book of Mormon, and Doctrine and Covenants and Church History. The Church Educational System (CES) provides selected teacher and student materials. Students provide their own scriptures. There is no fee to enroll in seminary.
·Institute - Institutes of religion provide weekday and evening religious instruction for LDS college students and young single adults ages eighteen through thirty. A variety of classes are available in Old Testament, New Testament, Book of Mormon, Doctrine and Covenants, Pearl of Great Price, Church history, family history, courtship and marriage, doctrines of the gospel, and teachings of the living prophets. In addition to religious instruction, most institute programs also provide a place where students can study and socialize.
BYU Jerusalem Center - The Jerusalem Center is Brigham Young University's center for study in Jerusalem. Students enroll through the BYU campus in Provo, Utah, travel to the Holy Land, and live in the Center for programs that extend for two, four, or five months. Students study a core curriculum that focuses on Old and New Testament, ancient and modern Near Eastern studies, and language (Hebrew and Arabic). Classroom study is built around field trips that cover the length and breadth of the Holy Land.
